Cookie Policy

What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They serve to make the website functional, analyze usage, or personalize content. Websites can also keep data in the browser's local storage (localStorage): those entries are not sent with every page request and have no fixed expiry date.

What Do We Store in Your Browser?

Oyodi uses only technically necessary cookies and optional cookies only with your consent. Two settings are additionally kept in your browser's local storage. If you close the language suggestion on a public page, that is noted only for the current tab in your browser's session storage (sessionStorage). The name and lifetimes of the session cookie are the ones from our standard configuration:

Cookie / localStorage / sessionStoragePurposeStorage and durationType
lyrics_sessionAuthentication and session managementCookie – 24 hours; the session ends after 1 hour without activityEssential
ui-languageStores your language preference (German, English, Simplified Chinese, Spanish, Turkish)localStorage – no expiry date; stays until you or your browser clear the dataEssential
oyodi_cookie_consentStores your cookie settings, including your page-statistics decision and the version of the statistics notice you decided onlocalStorage – no expiry date; stays until you or your browser clear the dataEssential
oyodi.languageSuggestion.dismissedRemembers that you closed the language suggestion, so it stays hidden during this visitsessionStorage – this browser tab only; cleared when the tab is closedEssential

Your Consent

Technically necessary cookies are set without consent as they are essential for the operation of the website (§ 25 para. 2 TDDDG). For all other cookies, we obtain your consent via our cookie banner. You can revoke your consent at any time. Our page statistics set no cookies. They have two separate parts: the server-side counting of delivered public pages sets no cookies, uses no identifiers and runs no script in your browser; what is counted is the ordinary delivery, and the user agent your browser sends anyway is reduced to a coarse bot class and is not itself kept in the statistics. On our assessment of this concrete implementation we base it not on consent but on our legitimate interest — the details of that assessment and your right to object under Art. 21 GDPR are in the privacy policy. The additional reporting of later page changes inside an already open page happens only with your express consent: without it your browser reports nothing. If we re-describe the collection, we ask again — an earlier approval does not carry over, while an earlier refusal stands.
